Representative of the natural system, this "landscape ribbon" provided a distinct spatial sequence. By beginning as a pedestrian collector in the surface parking lot, it provided access to the west entrance of the building while simultaneously climbed up onto the building roof and meandered its way eventually to the meeting hall and main north entrance.

The ribbon took on many different forms as it engaged with different parts of the site. The planting approach changed appropriately while its ground surface material changed from a walking path into a plaza and finally the interiors of a grand arrival hall of the building.

The north, west and south facing facades of the building also explored a unique approach to a green wall system. Taking the work of land artist Christo & Jean Claude as inspiration, the steeply tiled green walls (some at 60-degrees incline) became a wrap of greenery in order to express the massing of the building beneath. While certain parts of the building's massing beneath became apparent, other areas were seamlessly connected to the landscape and beyond.
