Kaiser Permanente San Leandro Medical Center, San Leandro, California
This 60-acres project site originally included a new Kaiser hospital, big box retail and small food and boutique shops. Today, it is a 38-acre site for the new hospital with expectation of future retail development to the north.

Built on a brown field site, the project uses natural stormwater treatment by way of bio-swales extensively as well as bringing the sense of nature to the site with a distinct tree palette and landforms in the shape of fallen leaves. The site also features a 1-mile jogging path with multiple exercise stations, a contemplative labyrinth, bamboo courtyard and custom design bus stop shelters. |

The layout of the site and parking lots were also designed to accommodate future facility expansion capable of adding without much damage to the site other than new building footprints; two medical office buildings, two parking structures as wells as an additional clinical wing and emergency department expansion for the hospital.
