Arcadia District, Toronto, Ontario
Located in a west-end Toronto neighbourhood, this new residential development is designed to be a vibrant transit-oriented community.
|
The landscape design envisioned for Arcadia District to incorporate a large landscape promenade that will become a Privately Owned Publicly-accessible Space (POPS). This POPS will connect the development’s 4 residential towers and create a space for families and people of all ages. |
Buffered from the surrounding industrial context, yet enriching the residential neighbourhood and community, the landscape design will activate the new development by creating different active and passive spaces for users to enjoy. The central plaza will include commercial, and retail spill-out use as well as community events. With quiet intimate spaces planned in the private amenity roof gardens, the landscape promenade POPS will remain open and welcoming that will include stepped seating and variations of grade changes and planting approaches for all to enjoy.
